Adam Bennett loves movies. Have a question about who directed “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation”? Adam will know. Have a question about a Martin Lawrence movie? Adam will know and give you an impression. The man is a walking IMDB and the undisputed king of “The 7 Degrees of Kevin Bacon.”
Lesser known fact:
Adam Bennett loves riding bikes. Over the past two years his passion for pounding the pavement has grown and lately it has become somewhat of an obsession. The man once road a bike 20 miles while on vacation in Austin to get BBQ. Yeah, that about sums it up.
Lesser lesser known fact:
Adam Bennett has a condition called Autoimmune Hepatitis – commonly referred to as his “bad liver.” In a nutshell, his body’s immune system mistakenly attacks his liver causing it to become inflamed. As a result he has been on a steady dose of meds for most of his life. Over the past few months his situation has worsened to the point where a liver transplant appears almost certain. Due to the long transplant wait lists in California it appears Adam may be temporarily relocating to either Florida or Tennessee, both of which would allow him to get a transplant much sooner. The good news is that transplants of the liver have the highest success rates among all vital organs. Additionally, once the transplant is complete Adam will be able to live a much more normal life.
Adam has been in great spirits throughout this whole process. He has even been researching BBQ restaurants in Memphis - just in case. As close family and friends of Adam, we would all do everything in our power to make this situation as easy on him as possible. As such, we have decided to get Adam the bicycle of his dreams. Not only will this fulfill a longtime wish of Adam’s, but it will give him something to do while in Tennessee/Florida. He has talked about bringing his current bike out with him; but our goal is to let him get acquainted with his new bike while he awaits his new liver.
Meet the dream bike: a BMC Team Machine (complete with SRAM Red components and Reynolds Attack Wheels) not that most of us know what that means... but nonetheless, it will be the perfect gift for Adam.
